Thrilled! to have the Choral Composer/Conductor Collective (C4) premiere our choral piece "Spectrum" this November as part of 1 on 1: Music for Solo Instruments and Choir.
Inspired by Ellsworth Kelly's Spectrum V (currently on display at the Met), I wrote 13 micro-poems corresponding to the artwork's 13 panels of varying color, which Lisa Whitson Burns then set to music. I've heard recordings of rehearsal so far and... guys, I'm excited. There will be crunchy chords. And vibraphone.
Two chances to hear the piece and this amazing choir: Thursday, November 13 at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn (8pm) and Saturday, November 15 at The Church of St. Luke in the Fields in the West Village (8pm). Ticket information here.
